Foreign-language applicant documents need Chinese translations before filing. Upload existing translations or request preparation assistance. Foreign-language supporting evidence also needs translation where applicable.
Upload the exact representation you want to protect, including word-only marks. Color-designated marks also need a matching black-and-white reproduction. A word mark and a separate logo may require separate applications.
A power of attorney signed by the applicant or authorized company signatory, naming the applicant, nationality and actual Chinese trademark agency. Ask the agency for the completed form before signing.
Have your legal name, nationality/country, registered address, contact details and proposed goods/services ready. Chinese names and addresses can be prepared for your confirmation.
Self-service means preparing documents online. Overseas applicants who require representation are filed through a Chinese trademark agency; this portal does not submit directly to CNIPA.
This portal accepts PDF, JPG and PNG source files, up to 10 MB each, 20 files and 100 MB per application. These are our upload limits. CNIPA electronic filing requires a clear JPG under 200 KB, between 400 × 400 and 1500 × 1500 pixels. The team prepares and confirms the compliant filing image; source artwork may be larger.
Do not automatically supply a China business licence, China residence permit, a company director’s passport, proof of trademark use, or an existing home-country trademark certificate. These are not universal requirements for an ordinary foreign application handled by an agency. Case-specific evidence or formalities will be requested when relevant.
